ABOUT US
Fig Shed Studio is a cosy music studio in the heart of Adelaide which brings creativity and enjoyment back into the music making process. Between the calming view of our lush green garden, and rustic feel of hand-made panels and reused carpets, this studio offers a welcoming environment to artists of any experience level.
Our goal with this studio is to cut through all of the anxiety and uncertainty in recording your music, to make the process as relaxing and stress-free as possible, while also giving you as much hands-on control as you would like all throughout the music-making process. Run by two emerging Adelaide artists, we understand what is missing in the current landscape of recording spaces, and how we can better cater the process to be entirely focused on the needs of the artist. This means completely transparent communication, in making sure the artist understands what we’re doing, why we’re doing it and how we can tailor the creative process to each individual. We aim to work closely with each artist to build a level of friendship, trust and understanding, in order to align ourselves properly with their musical vision. This helps the process become less transactional and more collaborative, so you can feel confident in the final product.
We are also genre agnostic – keeping up to date with all the leading edge trends and genre blending across the modern music scenes. Between our two producers, we can help you make anything from entirely synthesized bangers to purely acoustic ballads.Â

MEET THE TEAM
CHARLIE LEMAISTRE
Producer, Recording Engineer, Mixing, Mastering
Hey there! It’s me Charlie. I’m the producer / engineer / all around cool music guy here at Fig Shed Studio. I’ll be the one recording/producing your tracks, doing the mixing and mastering, but most importantly getting to know you as an artist and a friend 🙂
I’ve been producing music since I was 14 years old, having done recording and engineering seriously for the last 5 or 6 years. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Sonic Arts) at the University of Adelaide in 2024, as well as completing a Certificate III in Music Industry (Sound Production) in 2020. During this time, I have also recorded and released my own music as an artist, as well as having run my own business to produce and mix music for other local solo artists. Between my studies, personal artist and business experiences, I believe I have developed a large pool of knowledge, with the tools to produce professional industry-standard records, despite still being young and continuing to learn and improve my craft.
In terms of genres, I have experience working on quite a large range of musical styles, with some of my most prominent genres being folk/singer-songwriter, RnB, Indie Rock, Electronic/Dance, and hip-hop. Having started producing hip-hop originally, then since evolving and expanding from there, I believe I have a good balance of the sampling, synthesising and MIDI programming skills, as well as more traditional live acoustic/band recordings.Â
My musical influences are extremely varied and constantly changing, but to paint a picture, here are some of the artists I’m loving most at the moment;
Geese, Big Thief, Pheobe Bridgers, Maruja, Radiohead, Ninajirachi, Quadeca, Sampha, Mk.gee, Tyler The Creator, Black Country New Road, Bon Iver, Kendrick Lamar, Ethel Cain, Frank Ocean, SZA, Little Simz, Sufian Stephens, and many many others…
HAMISH MCCOMBE
Producer, Recording Engineer, Multi-Instrumentalist
hamish@figshedstudio.com
Hello,
My name’s Hamish.
I am no mixer or masterer but if you’d like someone to help musically produce and engineer your record or song then I could be of service. I love the art of creating a record and all the thought and decision making that goes into it. My main strengths are writing and arranging music in a way that serves the song. I enjoy pushing the boundaries to get out of the middle of the road and into the less trodden tracks and side stops, I love the unexpected yet simple, the mistakenly perfect, the intentionally rustic.Â
Some boring biographical things:
- Have written and recorded an EP and performed across Adelaide including at WOMADelaide and in the Floods of Fire Festival as part of the Adelaide Festival with my band Monya
- Completed a Bachelor of Music majoring in Popular Music in 2024
- Have recording and performance across guitar, piano, bass and drums
- Co-production credits: Paper Thin House – Monya, Take No Form – Courtesy Callers
- Engineering credits: Take No Form – Courtesy Callers
I love exploring all sorts of music but to paint a picture of my main influences here’s some recent loves and all time favourites;
Alduos Harding, Big Thief, Cameron Winter, Kings of Convenience, Black Country, New Road, Twine, The Beach Boys, Swapmeet, Bill Frisell, The Beatles, Punch Brothers, Ben Folds, Bon Iver, Harry Nilsson, Paul Kelly, John Butler, Nick Drake, Phoebe Bridgers, Bob Dylan, Geese and lots more…
